DATA SELECTION GUIDELINES

• ISciences will select scientific datasets that align with our mission: To promote better understanding of Earth for the mutual benefit of society and the environment.
• ISciences will select scientific datasets that together provide an inter-disciplinary picture of Earth and its people by presenting data collected on the anthrosphere, atmosphere and climate, biosphere, cryosphere, exosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere. The selection will emphasize, though not exclusively, datasets with a global extent.
• ISciences will periodically review the catalog of datasets to insure its timeliness and relevance to the stated mission.

DATA DISTRIBUTION AND PRICING GUIDELINES

• Copyright: Datasets or subsets of datasets that violate the rights or privacy of individuals or national or international copyright laws will not be disseminated. ISciences maintains full compliance with the stated copyright policy of the data creator.
• Access to metadata for open source data: Access to the online directory, inventory, and general documentation for open source data will be free of charge and unrestricted.
• Access to open source data: All open source datasets will be free as downloadable files, or distributed at the cost of recovery and delivery in CD-ROM or other format that ISciences deems suitable.
• Access to metadata for propietary data: Access to the online directory, inventory, and general documentation for ISciences' proprietary datasets, defined as datasets created by ISciences or made available by ISciences through special agreement with partnering organizations, may be restricted.
• Access to proprietary data: ISciences reserves the right to establish a price it deems commensurate with product.
